Employment Resources
At present, Kagita Mikam extends employment and training services to all eligible Indigenous people within their catchment area. The catchment area is west from Oshawa and east to Ottawa.
KEYS Job Centre is a community-based centre with expertise in employment and employment-related services. As leaders in the field, they provide services to the whole community: job seekers looking for a job or exploring career options; employers looking to hire the right staff; or newcomers to Canada requiring English training and settlement help.
It is their mission to help people prepare for, find, and keep employment. They achieve this by providing a wide range of employment services for job seekers and employers, and by building strong networks with their community partners.

Kingston Literacy & Skills (KL&S)
Kingston Literacy & Skills (KL&S) is a non-profit community organization. With professional, knowledgeable staff and dedicated volunteers, we deliver literacy upgrading and workforce preparation programming to adults and families in Kingston and surrounding communities.
The Indigenous Bursaries Search Tool is a searchable list of 688 bursaries, scholarships and incentives across Canada.
First Nations Technical Institute
FNTI is an Indigenous institute offering unique educational opportunities aimed at enhancing the capacity and strength of learners and communities. In partnership with several Ontario colleges and universities, FNTI delivers culturally-rich post-secondary programs. Most courses are presented in an intensive mode that allows learners to learn while they continue to work, and are delivered in communities across the province. FNTI is also home to Ohahase Education Centre, an accredited Ontario Secondary School, and the Tontakaierine Tyendinaga Justice Circle.
St. Lawrence College Eagle's Nest Indigenous Centre
Some of the things they can do for you are
- Assist with application and transition processes
- Give referrals to other College services and resources
- Introduce you to other College staff who can help with your specific needs
- Help you get connected to your community services and resources
- Give you information about social and cultural events, employment opportunities, and other things that are relevant to Indigenous people
- Give you information about Indigenous bursaries, scholarships, and other funding opportunities, including band funding
- Introduce you to other Indigenous students, especially upper year students who can be mentors to new students
- Listen to your concerns and celebrate your successes!

Queen's University Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre
Queen's University Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre strives to be a home away from home for Indigenous students, and a site of information and support for the broader Queen's community. It is a hub of activity. They welcome and encourage everyone to drop in and learn about the supports and services available.
